There’s something magical about that first bridal appointment — the flutter of excitement, the shimmer of gowns in the boutique, and the moment it truly sinks in that you’re getting married. For bride and social media influencer Rylie Shaw, stepping into The Dresser Bridal marked the beginning of a dream-come-true experience she’ll never forget.
A Mix of Nerves and Excitement
“I felt mostly really excited!” Rylie recalls. “This was a big moment — the first step toward planning my dream wedding. Every bride wants to feel like a princess on their big day, and being a picky shopper myself, I thought it would be hard to find the dress. I was so wrong!”
While excitement led the way, she admits to a few nerves. “I had never stepped foot in a bridal shop before, so I had no idea what the process would be like. But I was ready for the adventure!”
The Magic of a Great Stylist
Rylie’s experience took a beautiful turn thanks to her stylist, Bella.
“Right before pulling up to the boutique, I emailed a few inspiration photos I thought I would like best,” she shares. “The first dress Bella picked out looked nothing like them! But after trying on so many styles — even the ones I was sure I’d love — I realized something… she was right.”
Bella explained that most brides end up saying yes to something totally different from what they imagined. “When I revisited the very first dress she had chosen, I knew I had found the one,” Rylie says with a smile.
Saying ‘Yes’ to the Perfect Dress
As a content creator — and one known for performing flips, tricks, and partner stunts with her now-husband — Rylie had a unique challenge in mind.
“I needed a dress that let me lift my arms all the way up and move freely, but still looked full and romantic,” she explains. “It had to be light enough to flip and tumble in — but still fluffy enough to feel bridal.”
With Bella’s help, Rylie found a gown that was not only stunning but met all her performance-friendly requirements. “It was gorgeous, but I felt like something was missing,” she says. “Then Bella pulled out two strips of fabric and draped them across my biceps, creating soft, off-the-shoulder sleeves. In that moment, I knew. It went from ‘amazing’ to perfect.”
An Unforgettable Moment
When she finally saw herself in the full look — gown, sleeves, and veil — Rylie says the emotions overflowed.
“I broke down in tears,” she remembers. “It was pure joy. I had whispered a little prayer in the dressing room asking Jesus, ‘please help me find the perfect dress,’ and He did. It was one of the most special moments of my life.”
Rylie’s Advice for Future Brides
Her biggest tip? Don’t rush the magic.
“Make the most of the experience,” she shares. “Twirling, running around, prancing — enjoy it all! Don’t stress if a dress doesn’t feel ‘right’ at first. I didn’t realize mine was the one until I put it on again. It’s like they say about love — when you know, you know.”
✨ At The Dresser Bridal, we’re honored to have been part of Rylie Shaw’s story — helping her find a dress as fun, free-spirited, and full of joy as she is.
